    • Best Hybrid Ever

I bought my Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited in June of 2021. Which is amazing considering the new car market this summer. I really enjoy the quiet cabin and smooth ride. I'm still finding fun stuff about the vehicle. I was really impressed when I took a last-minute road trip from Vancouver, WA to Phoenix, AZ. The entire trip was amazing, smooth, quite, and comfortable. I really enjoyed the gas mileage and the fact that I didn't have to fill up often. Six (6) full fill-ups for the round trip which was cheaper than one-way flight. I really liked that it wasn't anywhere near overheating even in the long hot desert day.
    • Wow! So stylish, comfortable, fun.

This is my favorite car in the price range. Luxury, safety, comfort, roomy, great warranties and a fun ride.
    • Good car. Not great hybrid.

I have owned this 2022 Tuscon Blue Hybrid for about 5 months now. I've put on about 5500 miles and just made a 1000 mile roundtrip run. I also own a 2021 RAV4 4 hybrid vxe for comparison. The Tuscan has very good power. Even at highway speeds. That 1000 mile trip involved 4 adults, a loaded interior cargo area, and a roof mounted cargo container fully loaded. During this trip, I averaged about 25 mpg. I was very disappointed. I figured I would definitely do better since it's a hybrid. But on the upside, the engine had plenty of power to accelerate and pass, even loaded down. It just sucks to get 25 mpg. In the city, stop and go, this car does it's best in fuel economy. City driving gets me close to 38, sometimes 40 if I drive with a light foot and maximize the regenerative braking to charge the battery. Other point 9ve noticed is that fuel economy suffers in the colder weather. Once you have the heater in, the engine stays on longer and kills the mpg. The reverse is not true with the air conditioning on though. Odd. Also noticeable is that the hybrid battery charge gauge seems to always want to stay at the halfway point. It never is really allowed to fully charge, and then run off electric. The engine is always switching back and forth. Although it switches seemlessly I feel like I'm getting jipped on the potential electric mode. Also, you cannot force this into electric mode like you can on the Rav 4 . The cabin in the Tuscon is larger than the rav 4 and that's why i made my choice. I'm 6 ft and 190 lbs. My RAV4 has a sunroof and the top of my head touched to interior roof trim. Even with the seat lowered all the way. Tuscon has muchore head room for me. The RAV4 gets way better gas mileage, averaging about 42 city, and 38 highway. And it uses the hybrid battery more effectively. I would hope Hyundai would upgrade the computer to allow for a better hybrid powertrain as far as efficiency. I like the car just not as much as the RAV4 except for the headroom issues. Tall people will not be comfortable in the RAV4. Go with the Tuscon. You'll lose some mpg's but will be more comfortable. We'll worth it. I also added a trailer hitch I got from etrailer.com. simple bolt on with no drilling. Get the wiring kit. Also real easy. Plug and play. I am getting a reminder on the dash that service is due soon. Probably at the 6000 mile mark. I do like the included 3 year maintenance and 6 year warranty. That beats Toyota. It's all a trade off. Also beware, the Tuscon hybrid does not come with a spare tire. There is space for one, so i ordered a compact spare from ebay, which came with a jack. Just had to modify the foam insert in the cargo area. Not a perfect fit, but makes me feel safer driving. Very disappointed in this auto industry trend of no spares. The dealers answer is always just call roadside. All they give you is a small pp and some foam. So even if you have to use it, it will probably ruin the inside of your tire. Stupid way to cut costs. By the way, the rav 4 came with a spare. All said and done I would have gotten the RAV4 if there was more headroom for the driver. But the Tuscon is a solid choice.
